2012 GKMSA Code of Conduct

In game player complaints/swearing rules:

-          Mandatory pre-game meeting with team rep and manager, these will be the only two players to address umpires during the game about appeals/protests.

-          No arguing ball and strikes; players that do will be warned and then ejected.

-          Any vulgarity at umpire is automatic ejection.

-          1st vulgarity not directed at an umpire results in a bench warning given to the team manager/rep in a low key manner.

2nd vulgarity will result in an ejection of the player who used the vulgar language; the player must leave the field right away.

-          The bench is not a “safe zone,” team manager will be responsible for any vulgarity or complaints coming from the bench.

Important notes regarding the Code of conduct:

-          Suspensions are based on players who play for one team; any players who play for multiple teams will have suspensions multiplied by the number of teams they play for.

-          Suspensions will be for the next consecutive games not based on equal amount per team.

-          Any vulgarity or arguing after an ejection will result in the next offense of disciplinary actions.

-          Player who does not leave the field after an ejection will also receive the next offense of disciplinary actions.

-          Any 2nd or 3rd offense will come with a $50 reinstatement fine. This is to help cover the cost of the arbitration meeting that will be held.

-          ASA requires a lifetime suspension for any player who physically assaults an ASA umpire.

-          All suspensions that overlap into the next season will be carried over.

-          If a team uses a player that is suspended they will forfeit that game and the player will be suspended for the remainder of the season.

-          All suspensions that are listed above are minimums and can be increased by the GKMSA Executive Board and Board of Directors if need be on a case by case basis.

-          Players and umpires need to act in a professional manner before, during, and after the games.

-          If a player is ejected from a game he is ineligible to play in any other games for any team the rest of the day or night. If he plays in any game his team will forfeit due to him being ineligible and he will face further disciplinary actions.
