Annual GKMSA League Meeting Minutes – 10/7/10

Attendance: President Rick Duquette, VP Scott Goulet, Secretary Gordie Daniels, Treasurer Dave Kotchman, D2 Rep Rich St. Pierre, D3 Rep Jeff Castor, D4 Rep Ron Johnson, D5 Rep Nate Johnson and Senior Rep Tom Maynard.

Agenda:

- Dave Kotchman handed out a 2010 budget and briefly discussed it.

- Rick Duquette announced that Dave Kotchman was retiring from softball and thanked him for all of his hard work.

- Discussion about schedule changes and a game change during playoffs last year.

- Discussion about UIC Tim Lepisto and the desire of teams and players to not retain him as UIC and even some concern to him umpiring in the league anymore.

- Teams and players brought up wish for open pitching and 9-man play in D1, possibility of open pitching in other divisions.

- Voting started:

Kyler Rider defeated Rick Duquette to become President 21-19.

Scott Goulet ran unopposed to retain Vice President.

Gordie Daniels defeated JP Cavalo 35-15 to become Treasurer.

Nate Johnson defeated JP Cavalo 21-19 to become Secretary.

Derek Castor defeated Billy Smith 20-18 to become D1 Rep.

Ryan Lawliss ran unopposed to become D5 Rep.

Teams and players dismissed; Board of Directors to meet briefly.

- Discussion about concerns regarding Tim Lepisto retaining UIC.

- Umpires nominated Tim Lepisto as UIC candidate for 2011.

- The board of Directors voted 8-0 with one abstained to decline Tim Lepisto as Umpire in Chief.

- Discussed the next steps to elect a new UIC for 2011.

- Discussion about all meetings being open to entire board of Directors if they wish to attend meetings.

- Discussed everything that needed to be done to switch everything over to the new board members and future meetings.

Meeting was then adjourned.
