GKMSA Arbitration Meeting - July 29,
2011
Attendance: President Kyle Rider, Treasurer Gordie Daniels, Secretary Nathan Johnson, UIC Joe Warhall, Umpire Rep Ron Bush, Div 1 Rep Billy Smith, Div 5
Rep Ryan Lawliss and Senor Rep Tom Maynard.
- Meeting
about the ejection of two Sandy’s Braves players on July 28th vs
Tri-State. Tom Wood and Danny Blood were ejected. Game was also called a
forfeit due to actions of these two players.
- Gordie Daniels read umpire Brandon Snow’s write-up of both
players and his account of the incident and actions of each player.
- Umpire
Dave Lanier read his account of the incident and the actions of each player.
- Tom Wood
then read his letter of defense and his account of the incident. He also made
complaints towards Brandon Snow’s handling of the situation.
- A member
of Tri-State spoke on what he recalled and what happened during this incident
and let the board know what he thought should be done.
- A Sandy’s
player spoke on his account of what happened and to the defense of his
player’s/teammates.
- Kyle Rider
spoke about his earlier discussion with Sandy’s coach Charlie Dunham.
- After
further discussion about the incident and the code of conduct the board
discussed and voted on disciplinary actions:
- Danny Blood suspended 5 games plus
re-instatement fee (The middle of a split vote).
- Tom Wood suspended 4 games plus
re-instatement fee (Vote 4-3).

After
being informed of the decision Tom Wood said he was appealing his suspension.
He was told it would be reviewed, with a possible meeting.
