June 1, 2011 – Arbitration Meeting
Attendance: President Kyle Rider, VP Scott
Goulet, Treasurer Gordie Daniels, Secretary Nathan Johnson, UIC Joe Warhall,
Div 1 Rep Billy Smith, Div 5 Rep Ryan Lawliss and Umpire Rep Ron Bush.
Woodstock
Farms filed protest for May 31 game vs Bedaw Plumbing and Heating due to the
use of a suspended player in Mike Grotton as he was ejected in his previous
game.
Colin Snide
of Bedaw showed that the Code of Conduct stated that an ejection for swearing
was only an ejection unless directed at the umpire then it followed with a one
game suspension. After discussion the board voted 5-0 that Mike Grotton’s
ejection did not require a suspension and that it was a board mistake as he did
not swear at the umpire when he was previously ejected. The May 21 game between
Woodstock Farms and Bedaw Plumbing and Heating was upheld.
Board
apologized to all involved for this mistake and explained that there is a
learning curve for everyone as the new Code of Conduct is enforced this first
season.
Meeting
adjourned.
